Foley Foley is descended from the surname of Jack Foley, an editor in Hollywood in the 1940s.

Foley can be defined as the process of “applying effects”, it is the synchronization of the sounds of people and things with the action on the screen by “foley artists” in the studio. Foley artists create sound effects by repeating the actions of actors in the movie with similar items. These actions include footsteps, clothes movements, and other auxiliary sounds. Therefore, in foley studios; There are different different surfaces such as marble, wood, pebbles for footsteps, many kinds of items, shoes and clothes, a children's pool or bathtub for water effects and many more items and tools.
